Transition - Months 11 !!!

I am now in Month 11 of my Transition to 100% Natural Hair! Yes, I made it. I wanted to transition for 12 months but I think I will go a little longer. I think I might just wait until I hit 1 year and 6 months or maybe even 2 years! This time around transitioning has been a breeze. This style below is a braidout which is my go to style. It does a great job at blending my relaxed hair with my 4b hair.

Currently I've been using products by Jane Carter Solutions:

1. Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner
2. Revitalizing Leave-In Conditioner
3. Wrap & Roll (Setting Foam)

As far as my shampoo I am still on the look out for a good one, right now I have a travel size bottle of Giovanna Tea Tree Shampoo, I luv the Tingle but I hate the stiff feeling my hair has after shampooing. I will continue to try the Travel Size shampoos until I find one that I like. :-)

  1. Wow, your hair has become very thick. I like the hairstyle. Do you corn row it to achieve the crimps? Or do you just braid it individually? I am trying to find a way to keep my crimps spiffy for more than just 2 days. :) You should start twisting your hair, if you haven't already. It's easy to maintain, and you can exercise with them.I keep mines in for 2 weeks to a month. I know I'm crazy, but I hate doing my hair. So my objective is to do it less than 12 times a year. :) I even discovered that you can go swimming and wash the twists, without them coming out.

I am proud of you for coming to the natural side. :-)

  2. Your hair looks awesome. I too am at my 11th month and I must admit is has been pretty easy.I went through 3 phases: Stylist, Braids, and at home styling. I have been very fortunate to have 2 stylists that specialize in natural hair so I suggest having one on hand if you aren't hair savvy or afraid you might screw up.

Braids were easy also. Several stylist told me to go with scalp braids to preserve length, ensure all hair is getting proper conditioning(reduces un-necessary breakage), and quick braid removal, also I could take it down and have yet another styling option.

At home styling was made so simple due to Miss Jessie, Curly Magic, Redkin, and QP products.I must admit products that work was 95% of the battle (for me). I didn't want my hair to look dull and frizzy or to feel greasy and stiff, but mostly I didn't want hard to comb and wash hair.
The combinations of these brands have allowed me to have unlimited styling options that defined my natural wave pattern and didn't give me one plus but rob me of something else that I desired.
